Membership
Membership in any church is symbolic of one's desire to be partner to that fellowship of believers who pursue their faith
journey as disciples of Jesus Christ. Individuals may join First Congregational Church by letter of transfer from another
church, by confirmation, or by statement of their faith. Anyone wishing to join the church must attend the minister's
Inquirers' class to become familiar with the history and policy of the local church and the United Church of Christ.
Members are expected to attend worship services, give regularly for the church's support and benevolence, to participate
in the work of the organization, and to bear faithful witness to the Christian way of life.
No one is excluded from worship or participation in the life of the church. Membership is required, however, to vote in
the business meetings of the church or to hold elected office.
